, due to achieving the common interests . There is a change in interests and benefits, all of these have based on respect change , Sudan is one of the countries has common interests with others, particularly with Japan’s government which has had historic relationships dealt with deep roots and strong , these relationships were reflected on permeant communication process and promoting collaboration between Khartoum and Tokyo .
Japanese government has contributed in realizing comprehensive peace in Sudan through its balanced diplomacy without political conditions , because Tokyo believes in peace process and stability. On the other hand Tokyo keened on developing its diplomatic ties with Khartoum in all domains and throwing humanitarian assistance through its agencies which played a pioneer role in achieving numbers of humanitarian projects in some Sudanese States.
Japan’s government has played a crucial role when was inviting entities such as national and international Non-governmental organizations accredited by the authorities in Sudan to apply for grant assistance for grassroots human security projects programme , in fiscal year 2017 . The programme is a flexible and funding scheme which supports community level socio-economic development projects initiated by civil basic human needs . Reflecting the Japanese government’s strong commitment to uphold the concept of human society programme intends to contribute to improvements in various fields reducing health, education, and skill training as well as social welfare sectors.
On the 26 of February 2017 , the grant contract signing ceremony of the project for providing sustainable livelihoods to small scale farmers in rural Kassala locality , kassala State” funded by the government of Japan , through the grant assistance for grassroots human society projects. This project aims to provide sustainable livelihoods and food security to small scale farmers that are vulnerable to climate change impacts and have been unable to seek sustainable farming with their limited access to irrigation technology and knowledge for climate change adaptation . At the signing ceremony , ambassador Ito, emphasized the importance of agriculture, saying “ with 227 small scale farmers directly involved in the training and farming process , this project will not only benefit these families in vulnerable situations, but also benefit the whole community of 7,800 people by constantly supplying great verities of vegetables and alfalfa with affordable prices.
Japan had made significant contributions to socio-economic development of Sudan, and of North Kordofan State in particular. In North Kordofan State, the government of Japan has been providing development assistance in various seekers such as education, health and water. In the previous years through the scheme of GGP, Japan has provided the great assistance for the constructions of four primary schools, one health care center , one chicken farm and three water plants. The project hand over today is another addition to the assistance to North Kordofan State provided by Japan government.
Khartoum and Tokyo have keened to develop their bilateral ties, and they exerted an efforts to continue their communication through the committee for political consultation between the Sudanese and Japanese Foreign Ministers has held its eight session in Tokyo , capital of Japan , co-chaired by the general director of bilateral relations department of foreign ministry, ambassador Mahmoud Hassan, and the general director of African affairs administration at Japan foreign ministry. At the historical meeting which covered all aspects of the bilateral relations via increasing the volume of trade exchange, enhancing the economic cooperation and expanding the Japanese investment in Sudan on the light of the recent positive developments in the investment atmosphere and financial dealing in Sudan. The two sides underscored the importance of strengthening the bilateral relations, and also they have affirmed the importance of exchange of visits between senior Sudanese and Japanese officials.
Japan and Sudan have maintained the firm diplomatic ties since 1956. Japan regards Sudan as one of the most important countries to maintain peace and stability in Africa . The two diplomatic mission in the two countries hope that their friendship and future oriented partnership will be enhanced based upon the mutual trust and understanding.
