Khartoum- The Ministry of Minerals has signed an agreement with Azmas company, one of the firms of the Russian Acropole Holding Group, for gold mining and the
accompanying metals in the Red Sea State.
The Minister of Minerals Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Sadiq Al Karori signed the agreement for Sudan, while the director of the Russian company signed for the firm.
The Director General of the Geological Research Corporation, Dr. Mohamed Abu Fatima , addressing the occasion on behalf of the Minister of Minerals, said Sudan has become attractive for investors in the minerals sector as Sudan owns huge certified reserves of various minerals, including industrial, precious, and agricultural minerals and rare earth elements, pointing out that the block awarded to the Russian company today is one of the distinguished blocks, expecting that the Russian firm would realize big success using advanced technology.
The Russian Ambassador to Sudan, on his part, said the signing of the agreement is considered as a big step in pushing forward the fruitful cooperation between his country and Sudan.
The General Director of the Russian company, on his part, pointed out that they decided to invest in the minerals sector in Sudan as the country has a promising future in this field, noting that Sudan owns huge natural resources, while Russia possesses the necessary technologies in this regard.
