Sudan and Russia Sign Atomic Energy Agreements

A Memorandum of Understanding between Sudan and Russia will be signed soon; Minister of Irrigation

, Water Resources and Electricity Mutaz Musa will sign with a Russian Atom Company MoU on the peaceful use of atomic energy for electricity projects.
He highlighted during a press conference last week, this came while the minister was addressing the opening session of workshop between Russia and Sudan in Khartoum aimed at cooperation for peaceful use of atomic energy, the memorandum will pave the way for the signing of a comprehensive agreement with Russian side to establish a nuclear station in Sudan by the end of this year.
“Also The workshop aims at cooperation in the field of capacity building, transfer of knowledge and the exchange of experiences as well as benefiting from Russia’s experience in small hydroelectric power plants on seasonal rivers,” said the Ministry of Irrigation, Water Resources and Electricity spokesperson.
The workshop is held under Sudan’s plan in 2017-2031 to diversify energy resources.
