Chief Negotiator: Continued Meetings Indicate Possible Breakthroughs
Khartoum – Negotiations between Sudan and South Sudan continued yesterday in Addis Ababa at the level of three committees.
Meetings of the three committees focused on border trade, customs and tax, according to the head of Sudan negotiating team, Idriss Abdul Gadir. The continued meetings of the three committees are an indication of possible breakthroughs on outstanding issues, he added.
Regarding meetings of the security committee, Abdul Gadir said the committee is now looking into differences over the buffer zone and South Sudan's link with armed movements, Divisions 9 and 10 and the SPLM-N.
