Al Bashir Addresses Funeral of Late Meles Zenawi
Addis Ababa - President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, has addressed the ceremonies on funeral of the late Ethiopian Prime Minister, Meles Zenawi, referring to his great role in bolstering peace in Africa and leading the peace march in the continent and between Sudan and South Sudan State, besides his efforts in propping up peace, development and national unity at the African level.
In his address, President Al-Bashir said that the Sudanese delegation arrived in Addis Ababa to participate in the funeral of the late Meles Zenawi in recognition of great role and efforts that he exerted for the sake of boosting the stability and security at the region and Africa in general and for the welfare of all humanity.
He pointed out that Sudan recognizes well the honest endeavors done by Meles Zenawi and his persistence to reach solutions for the African disputes.
President Al-Bashir went on to say that Sudan is confident that the colleagues of Meles Zenawi will continue the march that he has begun.
The funeral was also addressed by the Chairman of the African Union and Presidents of Uganda, Rwanda and South Africa.
The funeral of the late Ethiopian Prime Minister was held amid a large international presence including presidents and heads of state of more than 40 countries.
Sudan has participated with a high-level delegation led by President Al-Bashir.
