Meles Zenawi: The Loss of a Friend

The Sudanese people are not less sad and grieved than the Ethiopian masses by the death of the  Ethiopian Prime Minister, Millise Zinnawi. If the Ethiopians have lost a leader and a boss, we in Sudan have lost a faithful friend. The man was a true friend to Sudan. He was a  friend in need. He stopped with us at a time when even some friends turned their backs on us. His friendship to Sudan was to him a matter of principle. It shows that he was a noble man. He didn’t wait for a price for his friendship with us. That is the value of this great leader and faithful friend. At this time of history, men like Zinnawi are very rare. For that reason, we weep him by tears of blood.
