President: UNSC Resolutions Significantly Lack Democracy and Transparency
Tehran/Khartoum – President of the Republic, Omer Al Bashir emphasized the importance of reforming the UN institutions to play its role in complete justice, transparency and efficiency.
Addressing the Non Aligned Movement summit hosted by Iran Islamic Republic, Al Bashir said that the reformation will not be apparent unless the UN General Assembly is enabled to play its role incomplete without any UNSC predominance in its powers.
He affirmed that the UNSC reformation is considered a fundamental part of the process, adding that the Council is no longer representing the contemporary international reality as it remained without any expansion in its membership or reform in its methods.
He added "We are aspiring for a balanced and just international system capable to deal with the challenges ahead."
Al Bashir expressed deep concern over pushing controversial and non-agreed on agendas such as the humanitarian intervention, preventive war and guardianship on human rights situations.
He emphasized that Sudan remained committed in supporting the Palestinian people and their struggle against occupation to establish their sovereign state.
Al Bashir pointed out to the challenges facing NAM in the regional and international levels saying: "The NAM needs more than any time else to boost the cooperation and coordination among its member states besides expanding it to include trade, investment and experiences' exchange."

Al Bashir said that the five  states in Darfur are stable a matter that led the UNSC to reduce the UNAMID in Darfur in recognition towards stability improvement due to the great efforts of the government, affirming that the development process will continue to help IDPs repatriation operations.
Al Bashir expressed his deep sorrow towards the situations in Syria adding the violence escalation will give no chance for resolving the dispute and will lead to more destruction, calling on all the parties to resort to the voice of reason.
