In Accordance with President Directives: NISS Releases All Detainees
Khartoum - In accordance with directives of the President of the Republic, the Director General of Sudan's National Intelligence and Security Services (NISS), First Lieutenant General (Security) Engineer Mohamed, Atta Al-Mawla Abbas ordered the release of 80 detainees apprehended in connection with recent acts of sabotage.
Gen. Atta's decision on release of detainees indicated that the apprehended people were freed despite the existence of witnesses and evidence of their involvement in stirring up hate against the state, undermining public security and safety and attacking public and private property in contravention of the spirit of Article (23) of the Interim Constitution which obligates any citizen to undertake duties towards his motherland particularly renunciation of violence and peaceful transfer of power through the ballot.
The Director General wished the people all the best and a happy new year, urging them to develop a spirit of patriotism, effectively contribute towards nation-building process and block the path of those seeking to target the motherland.
