Indian Community in Khartoum Celebrates 66th Independence Day
The Indian Community celebrated their 66th Independence Day at their Embassy on 15th August 2012.
The Charge d’Affaires Mr.Bharath Kumar Kuthati unfurled the tricoloured national flag and read the highlights of the Indian President’s address to the nation. In his speech it was remembered that during the age of empires, freedom was never given; it was taken. It was won by a

generation of giants, led by a mighty man of destiny, Mahatma Gandhi, who had fought with selfless, unflinching conviction against the mightiest power in history. The National Day was attended by a large number of men, women and children from the Indian Community. Amidst patriotic songs, a talented Indian traveler demonstrated some wonderful designs which he instantly cut out from coloured paper.
