Interior Minister Calls for Declaration of State of Maximum Alert to Face Rainy Season

Khartoum - Headed by Engineer Ibrahim Mahmoud Hamid, Minister of the Interior, the Technical Committee of the National Council of Civil Defense in the presence of representatives of ministries, departments and concerned organizations called for declaration of the state of full alert , setting up of emergency committees, provision of the necessary logistics and collection of data of the flood affected-areas and the issuance of daily bulletin on the situation and to alert States .
Maj. Gen. Hashim Hussein Abdul-Majid, Director General of Civil Defense indicated that the states of White Nile, Kassala, Darfur and Kordofan have witnessed heavy average which caused the collapses in part to some houses and the death of animals due to floods, adding that the National Council provided the necessary support for all affected states represented in the tents and blankets beside health support such as medicines, The Civil Defense official urged the mass media to raise the awareness of the citizens and brief them on the current climate and whether situation beside the activation of the humanitarian aid to provide assistances for the affected areas.
