Sudanese Women MPs Confirm Support to DDPD

Khartoum - Sudanese women MPs renewed their support to the Darfur and the Darfur Regional Authority (DRA); saying they will make sure to be among the partners who help the DRA resolve the issue of Darfur and implement the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur.
In their meeting with Altijani Assisi yesterday at the headquarters of the DRA, head of the Sudanese Women MPs Bloc Samia Hassan Said Ahmed confirmed the women MPs support to the DDPD; pointing out some of the projects the bloc is implementing for the women of Darfur to benefit from and to facilitate the implementation of the DDPD on the ground.
Assisi demanded that the women MPs must take part in implementing the agreement given that they are parliament members and that they are members in other humanitarian organizations.
Samia said Assisi has briefed them on the current IDP and refugee voluntary return programs being implemented now in Darfur.
Women MPs promised to play an important role in returning the IDPs; especially the ones in Chad given the strong relations they have with Chadian women MPs and the Chadian Parliament.
Samia added they are very keen on providing support to Darfuri women through raising awareness and constructive guidance in addition to development in all Darfuri villages.
