Arab League Welcomes Sudan, S. Sudan Oil Agreement
Khartoum: The League of Arab States welcomed announcement that Sudan and South Sudan have reached an agreement to resume oil export and share its revenues in a step to end disputes between the two countries.
Deputy Secretary General of the Arab League Ambassador Ahmed Bin Heli said in a statement Sunday that the Arab League was present in Addis Ababa through its ambassador Salah Halima and contributed to the efforts that helped reach the agreement; efforts led by former South African president Thabo Mbeki.
Bin Hel expressed his hope that the two parties will be able to resolve all the outstanding issues including security, borders, Abyei area, and the other issues as well.
