CBOS Approves US$100 Million for Darfur Microfinance Bank

Khartoum – Central Bank of Khartoum Governor, Mohammed Kheir al-Zubeir, has revealed an agreement over the Memorandum of Association for Darfur Microfinance Bank pending final approval of the Bank, with a capital estimated at US$100 million.
Al-Zubeir said in press statements, after meeting with the Darfur Regional Authority Chairman, Dr. Al-Tijani Al-Sisis in the presence of Darfur File Official, Dr. Amin Hassan Omer that the CBOS is working out a plan to provide credits to all Darfur citizens, pointing out that the head office of the Darfur Microfinance Bank will be in El-Fashir.
Meanwhile, Darfur Regional Authority announced the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding with Darfur Popular Group for Dialogue, Unity and Reconciliation within the coming days to follow up the implementation of Darfur People Conference recommendations.
For his part, Darfur Popular Group, Hassan Bargu called for expediting the security arrangements to protect the IDPs who returned to their home villages in this rainy season.
