FVP Launches Social Communication Initiative for Voluntary Return in Darfur
Khartoum – First Vice President of the Republic, Ali Osman Mohamed Taha, has launched a social communication initiative for voluntary return in Darfur.
Addressing yesterday a meeting initiated by DRA Chair Al-Tijani Al-Sisi which was attended by a number of public and private institutions that generously funded the project, Taha said efforts would continue to promote peace and security in Darfur and to implement the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur.
The FVP highlighted the great efforts made by the state to implement the document in its political, social and security aspects, praising the outcomes achieved by the conference convened in El-Fashir and expressed optimism that Sudan would overcome hurdles hindering its march.
Meanwhile, DRA Chair Al Sisi said a voluntary return programme was put in place as part of implementation of the DDPD but the organizers were surprised by the massive spontaneous return of IDPs to their original villages.
"We feel that the DDPD is widely accepted by the Darfur various society sectors and is also winning popular and national support" he said.
