Speaker of Parliament and US Charge d'Affaires Discuss Bilateral Relations

Khartoum - Speaker of the National Assembly, Ahmed Ibrahim Al-Tahir, received in his office Tuesday the American Charge d'Affaires to Khartoum, Joseph Stanford, and discussed progress of the bilateral relations.
Present at the meeting were Chairman of the External Relations Committee at the assembly, Mohamed Al-Hassan Al-Amin, and member of the committee and former Sudan Ambassador to Washington, Mahdi Ibrahim.
Meanwhile, Al-Tahir welcomed the visit of the US Charge d'Affaires, indicating that the visit comes as part of the efforts for boosting the bilateral relations.
He pointed to the instability in the relations between Khartoum and Washington due to some decisions being adopted by the US administration against Sudan.
Meanwhile, the American Charge d'Affaires said that the United States has no intention to change the government in Sudan, indicating that any change in government shall through come constitutional and legitimate means.
He said that the relations between the United States and South Sudan State will not be at the expense of Sudan, adding that some of issues are settled and peaceful solutions on different issues are reached then the United States is serious to enhance its relations with Sudan.
