Misseriya: Negligence of Abyei Protocol Unacceptable

Abyei Oversight Committee rejected any political speculations on the area, reiterating its commitment to the protocol approved by CPA, confirming its serious desire to reach a compromise between the parties on the area.
Chairman of the Committee, Al-Khair Al Fahim stressed the need to continue discussion and negotiation in order to reach a solution satisfactory to both parties, indicating his commitment to support development, pointing out that the southern government is still reluctant to implement security and administrative arrangements.
He said that transfer of the local right in conducting the referendum and giving it to others, is negligence of the Abyei Referendum Committee, playing down Pagan statement on suspension of negotiations on Abyei until the beginning of next year, describing his speech as unacceptable.
