Gold Production Increases during Second Quarter of 2012

Khartoum - The quantities of the produced gold that has been received by the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Corporation (SSMC) are estimated at 30%, said the General Director of the corporation, ,Gen.Abdalla Hassan Issa.
The amounts of the produced gold that were received by the SSMC in order to be stamped during the second quarter of the year 2012 were estimated at 17.4 tons with an increase of 30%, while the quantities received in the first quarter of the year 2012 totaled 12.4 tons, he added.
The quantities of the gold that had been received by the SSMC during the first quarter of the year 2012 reached 29.7 tons with an increase of 19% of the expected amount in the budget which is estimated the production of the gold to reach 50 tons.
The General Director of the SSMC, Gen. Abdalla Hassan Issa, attributed the increase in the production of the gold to the policies that were adopted by the Ministry of Mining as well as the good prices of gold that were announced by the Central Bank of Sudan, a matter that led to stimulating the producers and curbing the smuggling and made gold flow through the legal channels.
