North Darfur Government Announced
El-Fashir North Darfur Governor Mohamed Yousif Osman Kibir issued decisions regarding the formation of the new state government including eight ministers in their old shape without merger. However, the ministry of culture and information has been cancelled. The governor said in a press conference that the new measures were necessitated by conditions and that it is known that the government of North Darfur was formed three months ago. “Therefore, we cannot judge or evaluate any minister or ministry.”
The Governor also cancelled three high councils at the level of ministries, and maintained five advisors, four of them from the National Congress Party. Kibir added that all ministerial advisors, leaders, heads of supportive bodies were relieved, adding that the new cut accounted for 40 per cent, and that the State’s Council of Ministers is now made up of 61 per cent outside of the National Congress.
