Khartoum State, DRA to Cooperate in the Field of Health

Khartoum - Khartoum State Minister of Health Professor Mamoun Humeida called for inventorying the numbers of health cadres in all states and declared a partnership for cooperation between the federal ministry of health and the Darfur Regional Authority (DRA), saying that peace in Darfur is the cornerstone to peace in the entire country.
Humeida revealed that a field survey was carried out to evaluate the needs of the Darfuri citizens and the current situation.
Speaking at the joint DRA Ministry of Health and Khartoum state Ministry of Health platform at SUNA yesterday, Humeida said that Khartoum state is the national capital and a pioneering state, hence, it has human and material resources in addition to an infrastructure that can contribute to the development of Darfur states which suffered from war, adding that Sudan has launched initiatives before to support Tanzania and Ethiopia, so it's only fair and a priority to support the Darfur states. It is worth mentioning that the platform was set up to launch the workshop of the ministries of health of Khartoum state and the DRA.
Humeida explained that this project is based on correct health and statistic information and bases gathered by experts in the health field, stressing the need for developing Darfur and propping up Darfur to be able to cope and flourish.
He revealed that there are efforts to develop universities in Darfur by employing expert help and training students.
Minister of Health of the DRA Osman Al-Bushra for his part mentioned that the main problem is stabilizing security, calling on all the people of Sudan to join efforts and cooperate with one another to improve the health situation, realize stability, spread peace, and ensure citizens' well-being on the ground, confirming it is everyone's responsibility.
Al-Bushra affirmed that the integrated multi-pivot health project is based on studies that covered the needs of the people of Darfur and the Darfur health plan.
The workshop has main focus points including a direct discussion between experts and the obtainment of proper information to build the project on, pointing out that the preparations are complete for the comprehensive meeting; one which will bring together ministers of health, experts, and doctors. He clarified that all states have contributed to the process of data and information gathering.
