Presidency Prepares Plan for Knowledge Society
Khartoum - Assistant of the President, Colonel Abdul-Rahman Al-Sadiq Al-Mahdi affirmed that the country is in dire need of qualified and trained cadres as well as experiences of developing countries such as Malaysia and Singapore.
Addressing the first National Conference for Human Resources Development, which takes place in the period of July, 3-4, under the banner of "human development is a basic foundation for comprehensive renaissance," Al-Mahdi said that the concept of human development is the pivot of humanity and knowledge and the need to interact with the international community to attract investments.
He confirmed the importance of promoting the human element and benefit from experiences of other countries, adding that they are preparing a plan for the knowledge society and work to gather the Sudanese experiences at home and abroad and the need for recommendations to take advantage of them, wishing success to the conference.
On his part, Minister of Human Resources Development, Dr. Abdeen Mohammed Sharif stressed that training and capacity-building is a lifelong process which needs efforts to develop a national strategic plan coordinated and implemented by the Ministry of Human Resource Development.
He said, during his speech to the conference, that what distinguishes scientific conferences is to have goals and objectives that achieved through the contributions of scientists, intellectuals and experience, noting that the said conference will discuss five themes, where 25 scientists will review the applications.
The Minister pointed out that the formation of the ministry is a step in the right direction, where it contains a number of centers and professional councils, in addition to a number of administrative boards, pointing out that the conference is accompanied by a simple exhibition to reflect the activity of the councils and centers.
The participants were divided to work groups dealing with five axes, the concepts and visions, general policies and planning of human resources and its mechanisms, preparation and qualification of human resources development, human resource economics and review of successful experiences in the field of human resource development of some countries.
