Director: Zakat Treatment Unit Budget SDG One Million

Khartoum - Director of Treatment of the Federal Zakat Chamber, Afaf Zain Al-Abidin revealed that the annual budget certified for treatment inside and outside the country is about one million pounds, and can be increased.
She said that there are exceptional cases certified by Zakat Secretary General, pointing out that any person transferred abroad for treatment by the Medical Commission is supported, adding that the support is often 25% -30%.
In an interview with the daily paper, Al-Rai Al-Aam, Afaf said that the priorities of support are poor patients, pointing out that the Zakat Chamber offers health insurance to 225 vulnerable families in the capital, and 347 000 families in different states of the Sudan.
"We are seeking to indigenize treatment at home, in line with the policy of the state, through partnerships with therapeutic institutions, which have large potentialities and sophisticated equipment, as there are many diseases that can be treated at home, we also strive for full coordination with other bodies to overcome the obstacles and constraints facing patients," Afaf said.
