Ministry of Finance Embarks on Mapping out Comprehensive Economic Reform Program
Khartoum - The State Minister at the Ministry of Finance and National Economy, Dr. Abdul-Rahman Dirar, disclosed that the ministry, in collaboration with the concerned authorities, is engaged in formulating a comprehensive economic program for restoring balance to the Sudanese economy.
This came when he received Wednesday at his office a mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) which was headed by the IMF envoy to Sudan.
The minister said that the Ministry of Finance has embarked on mapping out and discussing an integrated economic reform program which focuses on enhancement of the productive sectors, reducing the government expenditure, reactivating the revenues and adopting comprehensive measures in the foreign exchange policies.
Meanwhile, head of the IMF mission has got informed the minister on the IMF report on the current economic situation in Sudan and indicators of the economic performance for the year 2012.
He explained that the report aims for indentifying and assessing the economic situation in the country prior to presenting recommendation to help adopting the required reforms and reducing the negative impacts on the economic performance.
