S. Sudan Provides Military, Logistical Support to Aggar Forces in Blue Nile State
Khartoum: South Sudan provided military and logistical support to the forces of the rebel leader Aggar in Blue Nile State. The support was represented in weaponry and food supplies after the government of South Sudan dispatched leaders from military intelligence to assess the status of these forces in the state.
An informed source told SMC that the support provided to the forces of Aggar came in response to a request he made to the Government of South Sudan after reports that some field commanders mutinied against Aggar and a huge number of his soldiers escaped to Ethiopia due to shortage of food and weaponry.
The source added that the number of escaping soldiers is increasing and resentment among rebels is snowballing in Blue Nile State due to the fact that salaries were not paid for several months, adding that there is obvious disappointment among the leaders of the People's movement in the state especially after the secession of South Sudan and the insubordination of their leader "Aggar", a thing that lowered the morale of the troops.
The source disclosed that there is a state of dissatisfaction among the political leaders of the People's Movement in Blue Nile State due to neglecting their role by Malik Aggar who followed the directives of South Sudan without consulting with them, a thing that denotes an imminent breakout of dispute within the People's Movement especially after Aggar arrived in Addis Ababa to speak on behalf of the People's Movement.
