Cabinet's Economic Sector Reviews Future Vision on Utilization of Water Resources
Khartoum - The Economic Development Sector of the Council of Ministers, chaired by the Minister of Finance and National Economy, Ali Mahmoud, has reviewed a report on the future vision on exploitation of water resources in the country, which was presented by the Minister of Water Resources, Prof. Saif-Eddin Hamad Abdallah.
The Minister of Water resources has explained that his ministry has been working for provision and improvement of water resources necessary to meet the need the needs for implementing development projects in the country and to support of the national economy and to encourage investment in the areas of animal and agricultural production.
The sector underscored the importance of providing financial resources that are sufficient for conducting scientific research pertinent to the development of water resources in Sudan.
The sector called for integration of efforts between the Ministry of Water Resources, the relevant productive ministries and the other concerned parties to raise the efficiency of the water utilization and development of irrigation methods at the existing projects to increase the rates of products and productivity.
The sector underscored the need to bolster the relations and cooperation with the Nile Basin's countries in the domain of water resources exploitation besides concern with the technical capacity building in the sphere of water resources as well as the training of cadres working for utilization of modern technologies.
