SPLM Exploits Nuba People, Current Conflict not in their Interest: Meki Balayil

Khartoum - The opposing Justice Party accused SPLM-North of violating human rights of Nuba people in South Kordofan and igniting war in South Kordofan and Blue Nile States.
Mekki Balayil, the chief of the party said that ongoing war in the two states has nothing to do with demands and marginalization, rather the SPLM only wants to exploit them to put pressure on the Sudanese Government.
Balayil said in an interview with Sudan Vision to be published later that SPLM exploited the sons of the two areas in carrying out external agenda and plans targeting Sudan in its ideology besides seeking to fragment it. He said his party is ready to face SPLM/North sector with these inhuman violations which is executed by it against the sons of Nuba including crimes. He indicated that the war resulted in great losses in money besides several negative phenomena. He said SPLM closed the door of dialogue with the government by announcing its intention to toppling the regime in Khartoum or continuing the war from which the people of the two states suffer.
He disclosed the deterioration in humanitarian situations in the SPLM- controlled areas in the two states due to shortage in food and medicine. Balayil added that his party calls on the government and SPLM to agree on the tripartite initiative that comprises the UN, the AU and Arab league aiming at removing lack of confidence between the government and SPLM. He also called on the SPLM to withdraw the condition of prohibiting government organizations operating in the humanitarian field in order to distribute the humanitarian assistance in the SPLM- controlled areas.
Balayil stated that his party believes in the necessity of dealing with resolution No 2046 with more watchdog as it prejudices Sudan and lenient with the violations of the state of South Sudan.
He called on the necessity of unifying national rank, indicating that the country is confronting several challenges such as external targeting which is seeking fragmentation of the country besides the economic crisis directly facing the citizen.
He added that his party supports Doha agreement as a basis for achieving peace in Darfur region, calling on opening dialogue with non-signatory movements to catch up peace.
Balayil revealed an initiative in which all previous initiatives to be included to convince the government and SPLM to ceasefire and undertake dialogue so as to stop the war in Blue Nile and South Kordufan states.
