Economic Development Sector Reviews Price Hike

Khartoum - The Economic Development Sector of the Council of Ministers reviewed in a meeting it held Tuesday under chairmanship of the Minister of Finance and National Economy, Ali Mahmoud, the phenomenon of increase of prices, its causes, proposed solutions and required measures to control the prices.
The sector underscored the importance of establishing an operation room in which all concerned parties shall participate to observe markets' movement and to monitor the price changes and then work for providing basic goods in the states, especially the strategic commodities like sugar, meat, medicines and petroleum materials.
The Minister of Finance said that there would be a package of procedures and measures that the sector would adopt to reduce the prices of necessary and consumption goods, stating that the policies will continue within medium and long terms through augmentation of production and to meet the demand for the various consumption goods.
