Conte: “We’ve Gone Down in History”

Antonio Conte congratulated his team after they lifted the club’s 30th Scudetto in front of a packed out Juventus Stadium. The final day of the season proved to be an emotional moment for all concerned - and none more so than Alessandro Del Piero, who bid farewell to his home public for the very last time.

Speaking shortly after his side lifted the trophy, Conte said: “We’ve had a fantastic championship season, crowning it with the Scudetto and a record which will go down in history. Others can only try and equal our feat. We’ve finished unbeaten and now we’ll enjoy the party. We’ll turn our thoughts to the Coppa Italia on Tuesday.”

On the talismanic Bianconeri skipper, Conte added: “We all felt emotional. Alex is a great champion and will be forever remembered as an indelible part of Juve’s history. Credit to the player but above all to the man. I’m moved for him and honouring everything with the Scudetto is extraordinary.”
