South Darfur Disarmament Commission Holds Workshop on Issues of Women
Nyala - The Commission for Disarmament, Demobilization and Re-integration in South Darfur State will hold, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), a Workshop on Affairs of Women and People of Special Needs with the context of a series of training sessions.
The workshop aims for enabling re-integration in the local communities and helping the returnees live in peace with others, benefit from the social and economic support and taking part in the reintegration programs for guaranteeing social justice, especially that women have participated in wars as fighters and have links with armed forces and groups.
The workshop also aims to increase the capabilities of the employees in the reintegration and demobilization field toward confronting the challenges facing women and boosting the security and stability of women.
Meanwhile, the Director of North Sudan Commission for Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration in South Darfur State has lauded the partnership between the commission and the UNDP which contributed to implementation of the projects’ and programs of the commission country-wide.
