Minister: South Sudan not Serious about Voluntary Repatriation of its Citizens

Khartoum, - Minister of Welfare and Social Security, Amira Al-Fadil reviewed at her office, Tuesday, with the British Ambassador to Sudan, Nicolas Kay the joint cooperation and the social issues pertinent to the return of the southern citizens as well as the efforts being exerted by the UN agencies in the context of extending humanitarian assistance to the Southern returnees.
The Minister affirmed the great efforts of the Sudanese government in the context of the voluntary repatriation of the southern citizens through the different means, referring to the reasons hindering the transportation operation at Kosti River Port.
The Minister added that the government of the State of South Sudan is not serious and does not give concern over the return of its citizens.
Concerning the Joint Tripartite Initiative which includes the UN, Arab League and the African Union to deliver the humanitarian assistances in the SPLM controlled-areas, the minister said the government has not approved the initiative yet.
She renewed the government cooperation with the UN agencies and the international community in accordance with the directives issued by the state in the context of the implementation of the development projects.
