SPLA Commit Large Scale Liquidation of SAF POWs
Khartoum – Commanders of the Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) in southern Kordofan have executed many prisoners of war (POW) from the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), Sudan Vision has learned from sources.
According to the sources, the southern Kordofan’s town of Angola was the scene of a serious massacre perpetrated by rebel commander Brigadier Kuku Al-Jaz and Major Majak who had carried out the executions against 21 SAF POWs on 29 March.
The source added that some of the executed POWs were identified including Dawood Breima from Al-Teis, Tutu Kafi from Buram, and Mohamed Kuku from Buran in addition to 17 POWS from various areas whose bodies have not been identified.
The sources said the executions were carried out in front of civilians to terrorize and frighten them, adding that the same commander executed 25 POWs from SAF in Buhairat Abiyat.
According to international laws and norms, execution of POWs is a war crime.
