Hussein Inspects Sunflower Seeds Projects in the White Nile State
Khartoum - The Secretary-General of the Agricultural Renaissance, Engineer Abdul Jabbar Hussein inspected, yesterday the program of production program of production and resettlement of sunflower seeds in Goli Locality, White Nile State.
Hussein said that the resettlement of seed production supports the national economy and provides hard currency, indicating to the decreasing of seeds to producers up to 50%, which is reflected in reducing the cost of crop production.
He noted that he ensures the provision of seeds in time for planting dates, and that there are 50 thousand acres of agricultural land ready for wheat cultivation and some other crops.
General Director of Harvest Company, Engineer Abu Bakr Ibrahim said that the company put process of producing seeds locally on the top of its priorities, and that it was able to build expertise to enable them to success in this area, noting that the company is keen on training a human cadre to perform all required packages of the production of seed, in coordination and full cooperation with the Agricultural Research Corporation.
For his part, Minister of Agriculture of White Nile State, Engineer Omar Mohammad stressed the importance of local seed production, pointing out that all elements of the success of various agricultural crops available in the state, noting that there are 40 new units will be entered in various agricultural projects.
