Petition against Al-Jazeera Sports Channel in Sudan

In its weekly forum the Sudan Consumer Protection Society, Sunday hosted experts who asked the management of Al-Jazeera Television Station to take into consideration the economic circumstance of its partners in Sudan and not equal them with the partners in the Gulf Countries. The Al-Jazeera had imposed fees equal to that in the Gulf States for Sudanese wanting to watch the sports channel.
The experts strongly denied the method of Al-Jazeera, agents with the citizens during the current African Union Cup and their enforcement to the partners to pay additional fees equal to the dollar in the parallel markets to allow them to watch the championship the matter that prevented more citizens not to see the national team which participated in the activities.
According to its role Sudanese Consumer Protection Society announced that two thousand have signed the petition against Al-Jazeera Channel.
The society refuted any personal intention form this step, it emphasized that it intents to mange dialogue to reach to positive solution satisfy the all sides.
Rasheda Al-Mofti, the agent of consumers protection court disclosed the court will start its primer investigation of the complains of the society aiming at if the complains about services or commodity and then putting the legal settlement to it among the articles of the law of the arrangement of the competition and preventing the monopoly for 2009 or the law of standards and measures or other law.
The lawyer, Azhari Al- Traify affirmed on the non-legality of the last law of the financial increasing because any amendment in contract the two sides should agree on it the mater that does not happen in the case of Al-Jazeera Channel.
Dr. Yassir Merghani the General Secretary of Sudanese Consumer protection society to broadcast the championship European Union in the coming June for its partners without additional fees as results of their paying their yearly  and half year Subscriptions which cover the coming championship . He denied the enforcement of the Al-Jazeera Channel to pay the fees according to the parallel markets and not to the price of dollars that the central bank issues. He asked for legal fatwa about preventing them not to watch the canal as result of the confusion that effect on the canal.
At same context Prof. Kamal Shadad the sports expert described the canal as the most profit for the TV canals .he asked to give the rights of the exclusive broadcasting. He asked for spreading the culture of the ground broadcasting (cables) which focusing on the idea of paying Symbolic fees against the broadcasting services.
He asked the media to practice pressures on the canal as the Egyptian media which enforced the canal to broadcast previous championship through the cabals and broadcasting the games of through its open canals
On his side Al-Marikh figure Amin Abdulgader called on the necessity to unify the efforts in how to treat with the canal, meanwhile the journalist Khald Aazuldin asked the canal to treat Sudan not equal like the gulf oil countries.
The representatives of Al-Jazeera Channel in Sudan were absent despite the invitation.
