Vice President Urges Ministry of Minerals to Focus on Training

Vice President, Dr. Al-Haj Adam Yosuf stressed the necessity of focusing on training, safety measures, conservation of environment, coordinating with Universities and research centers to serve the Mining Sector and encouraging partnerships between national mining companies in the one hand and the foreign companies in the other.
This came when the Vice President received Thursday the Minister of Minerals, Dr. Abdul Bagi Al-Jailani, in the premises of the Higher Military Academy, where the cabinet met.
The Vice President got assured during the meeting about the efforts exerted by the Ministry of Minerals in the previous period as well as the future of minerals in Sudan.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Minerals explained that the years to come would witness great development in terms of production, revealing existence of strategic minerals other than Gold, saying that his Ministry is planning to organize the native mining sector as well as making use of the precious stones available in Sudan.
The Minister explained that his Ministry is working in a close collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture to make use of the minerals that can be used as fertilizers such as Phosphate and Potassium Nitrate, revealing that the next period would witness distribution of exploration teams in strategic areas in the Greater States of Darfur.
