The principle of non-intervention in the internal affairs of states is a genuine principle that has ever known by the civilized communities and states since antiquity, and confirmed by international covenants particularly the UN Charter which provides in article (2), paragraph (7) that " not in the present charter shall authorize the UN to intervene in matters which are essentially within the domestic jurisdiction of any state".
The principle of non- intervention is based on the concept of sovereignty .But Colonialism tendency is still linger in the western mind demonstrated in the so- called Globalization which corresponds in essence to colonialism, both terms negates the principle of sovereignty, the only different between the two terms is that the colonialism used coarse power through direct occupation, whereas globalization uses the so-called soft power.
Sudan had experienced the two terms, western colonialism before independence, and the new version of colonialism (globalization) since the term was emerged. Sudan has the natural and legal right to safeguard its sovereignty by rejecting all forms of western intervention in its national affairs and stop it immediately and decisively. A quick glance at the results of western intervention in our affairs since the beginning of Darfur problem up to the CPA which ended by secession of the south shows that it has left very negative impact on Sudan as that doesn’t need elaboration. Therefore I believe that it is time to close this door, the door of western intervention in our affairs so as to preserve our sovereignty and interests and to maintain our internal unity, and building the future of our coming generations. That will not be achieved unless we go ahead to strengthen internal relations between the political and cultural components of our country, and developing the ties between the different entities within the country. I really hope that the current negotiations in Addis Ababa's to be the last form of western intervention in our affairs, for the Sudan will be secured and safer without such interventions.
